Her father has always protected her

Katie found her father to be very oldfashioned. Maybe it was because of his work, but he had never given her any body modifications. Not even the smaller ones like teeth whitening or breast expantion. He also never had sex with his daugter, even not after her mother had died. Katie was still a virgin. Her father hadn't even allowed other men to use her, not even for money.

Every time her father had to leave, Katie would stay home alone. She had no brothers or sisters, and she couldn't remember the time when her mother had still been alive. Her father had tought her how to read and write and Katie had spent meny hours locked up in their home library, while her father was working at the hospital.

Sometimes there would be girls coming over to play, but when she got older, she started to detest how dumb those girls seemed to her. They were very submissive and wouldn't stop talking about the guys in town and who they wanted to get married and have babies of their own.

Marriage had alsways terrified Katie. She didn't want to lose her freedom and was scared for even the most common modifications, especially the once that changed your character and brain. Most mods were thoroughly despribed in her fathers medical books. Some men even turned of their wives ability to disobey them.

She had also read about those who were called Free Women. They were females who didn't belong to anybody.

When she had first read about it, she had thought that was exactly what she wanted. Joining the Free women, living in a utopia, far away from men's society.

But then she had seen them on the news. With their bodies free, men could harm them any way they wanted, and nobody would care. The only reason they were on tv was clearly stated by the newsreader every time a new case was shown. Some fathers would get attatched to their former property and couldn't or wouldn't sell their daugthers. The images of those totaly mutilated women were to encourage fathers in selling their daugters as soon as they turned eightteen, even if they didn't totally trust the new owner, it would probably be better than letting his daughter become a Free Woman.

Katie had talked about it with her father, not sure anymore what to think. Joining the Free women would be risky, and would the freedom be worth losing her savety?
