Her Chest

*Flash Back Cont.*

You take out your plastic stethoscope and place the end on her chest. After a minute, you frown.

"I can't hear anything..."

She patted your shoulder. "It's not a real one, so you can't hear my heart."

Suddenly you remember something; taking off the stethoscope you grab a glass cup from your father's side of the bed and put it over her heart, before placing your ear to it. You hear her heart beat...finding it soothing.

"So..." She asked. "How do I sound?"

You look at her. "Very nice."

She gives you a smile and you continue your examination of her by listening to her lungs. Which were fine. After putting the cup down, you check her ears with a fake 'Ear-Viewer' from the kit. Then took out a small flash-light and checked her eyes.

Her eyes were what you found most beautiful.

"Ok, now open your mouth and stick out your tongue."

She did. And you saw the bristles that every cat has on their tongue.

You put two fingers on her tongue as you looked all around her oral cavity, then ask, "Say 'ahh'."

"Ah~." Her uvula moves as she did so.

"Everything looks good in there."

Once her mouth closes, you tell her to lay down and then you feel her stomach. After that, you were finished.

"Hey, I'd like to do something for you."

She shook her head. "You don't have too-"

"I want to give you a name."

"Wh-What?"

You shrug. "I can't keep calling you 'Kitty', so I thought of a name."

She swallowed. "And that would be?"

"...'Mara'. What do you think?"

She gave you a watery smile, before hugging you. "I love it."

After that, you and Mara would do everything together. Movies, swimming (yes she could swim), even going to the Arcade.

One day she caught a cold, and the vet came over to give Mara a check up and Medicine. You then spent every time, before she took her medicine, to make her better. Mostly checking her throat to see if the red was going away.

It was then you knew what you wanted to be...

*Flash Back End*

Thing were normal until you got into High School and started taking Biology; where they talked about more anatomy...humans and hybrids. It was hard, and you got into Medical School thanks to good grades. Mara helped you memorize all you needed to know...and even obliged when you said you needed to practice giving exams on her.

Through she had been nervous on the pelvic exam part.

You were pulled from your thoughts when Mara asked you something. "What were saying?"

"I asked, if you could come by tomorrow?"

"Sure. To catch up?"

Mara squeezed your hand. "Part of it. There's something I want to talk to you about...privately."

"Oh?"

"I only trust you with it."

You think a minute, then tell her you would come around eleven o' clock. As you didn't work on the weekends. She gave you a hug, then said good-bye when you arrived back at the clinic.

The next day...

You arrive at Mara's apartment on time. She opens the door for you and invites you in.

"Thanks for coming." She says. "Can I get you anything? Coffee or Tea?"

"No, I'm fine. What about you?"

She tells you she's alright, but then falters. "But I do need your help...you see I..."
