He wants a kiss

"W-well," Ace began, scratching his chin thoughtfully, "I guess it has been a while since I took a break."

Venus' eyes lit up and she grinned at him. "So it's a yes then?"

The young man hesitated. His hands fiddled with his sword handle, wrapped in chestnut leather and embossed in enchantment sigils, and his eyes nervously darted back and forth between Venus and towards the doorway. As flash of emotions ran over his face, Ace tensed up and appeared to be debating with himself.

"What? Is something wrong?" Venus asked.

Coughing to cover his embarassment, Ace replied, "No, it's...it's just that, well, we've known each other for some time now, right? And, uh, I was thinking, you know, that since we're at an inn that, well, maybe, uh maybe, I could get a kiss from you?"

Venus blinked.

An awkward silence stretched through the air as they stared at each other awkwardly. Ace's adam's apple bobbed as he swallowed hard, waiting for her response, and he anxiously shifted his weight to each foot. Outside, a raven cawed as the dawnlight spread over the horizon and through the streets of the village, its sharp cry snapping Venus out of stunned silence.

"You want me to kiss you?" Venus repeated.

Ace nodded emphatically. His eyes were wide and innocent-looking, but Venus could practically smell the eagerness coming off of him and she could tell that he was resisting the urge to ask for more from her.

Suddenly, Venus' eyes narrowed and she placed her hands on her hips. She asked suspiciously, "...Where?"

"Just the cheek." He replied all too quickly, "...and then the mouth, maybe? And then, uh, other places. If you're feeling up to it."
