He threatens to hold you until he gets a search warrant.

"I guess you're stuck here until I get a warrant to search your car," the deputy grinned.

"Wait, what?!" you exclaim. You don't think it's legal for him to hold you for the next few hours but you don't want to protest too much and escalate things to the point you could go to jail or get shot.

"I just want to make sure Valerie isn't hiding in your trunk," he says.

"Fine. I have nothing to hide," you grumble and remotely unlock the trunk as you walk over to the back of your car. You hold your breath as the cop rummages through the duffel bags, hoping he does not suspect two of them belong to Loretta and Connie.

Satisfied that the young mechanic is not hiding in your trunk, he hands you his business card. "Well, if you remember anything that Val said or did that could help us find you please give me a call."

"I will, Deputy Harris," you reply, noting his name on his card before putting it away in your pocket. The cop nods at you before walking away towards his cruiser. You stand by your car until you watch the deputy drives out of the parking lot and towards the highway.

You let a sigh of relief and head towards the rest area building. You see Loretta and Connie standing outside the women's washroom. "The coast is clear, girls."

"Was Deputy Harris looking for us?" Connie asks excitedly.

"No," you respond. "He was looking for Valerie Hudson, the mechanic."

"Val?!" Loretta exclaims.

"Yeah," you say. "Apparently I was the last one to see her at the garage before she disappeared."

"Well, I didn't really disappear," says the busty brunette as she steps out of the washroom. "I just wanted to follow you guys." Your two new girlfriends hug Val.

"Did you two know she was here?" you ask bewildered. Loretta and Connie shake their heads.

"I couldn't let my two best friends since elementary school run off with a stud who took their virginity," Val answers. "I hitched a ride out here knowing that you guys would stop at the first rest area out of town. I spotted your car and was going to look for you three but I saw the police car and hid in the washroom."
