Chapter 12 by DoctorPootis DoctorPootis

Does he cut and run or stay?

He decides to stay

Callum sighed as he sheathed his sword. He thought for a few moments, seeing Zoriah bite her lip awaiting an answer. She expected him to run off and leave these girls to their doom. In reality, he could. But there was peace everywhere, so his warrior skills weren't needed in any armies. He couldn't go back to his village, obviously. Plus, leaving these poor girls that, much like him, had nowhere to go, seemed heartless. Callum sighed once again as he opens his mouth to answer with only one word. "No." Zoriah's nervous face changed to a very confused one.

"N-no?" She asked.

"You heard me right. This was all a big misunderstanding. And if no army requires a strong warrior, you certainly do. The idea of being sold as property even though you're human is nauseating to me, so I will protect your business for as long as I can."

"Really? But the men... They'll kill you, Callum!" Zoriah said, grabbing his shoulder with a panicked expression on her face.

"They won't kill me, Zoriah. The difference between them and me is skill. I'm a professionally trained highlander, I could slash through 20 of those crooks and still have energy for more." Zoriah teared up.

"Thank you, Callum... I will tell the girls the good news, if you don't mind. I'll come back to reward you..." She said, winking at the warrior before leaving the room. Callum couldn't help but smirk. He had definitely made a good choice today. A few minutes later, after he had undressed himself almost completely, he could hear surprisingly distant sounds of cheer erupting from the girls. He heard footsteps coming towards his room, and Zoriah creeped open the door.

"Hey there, stud. Ready to feel amazing?"

Callum gasped in surprise as the door opened fully to reveal...

What surprise does Zoriah have?
