Esau stood still, his hands clasped together. The Zaraq continued to peer at him curiously. In his head he kept repeating a calming mantra, a spell to banish the demon. In a way, it worked. The Zaraq, while not banished, was suddenly unsettled by his magic aura, and flew away fleeing, leaving Esau to continue on his path. He still kept an eye on her as she circled him high above, but he was quite proud of himself that he could pull that off, and that his magic still worked in this strange place. But, he was certain there would be more difficult challenges ahead of him, so he had to remind himself to keep his wits about him.
