Half-Elf Male

The Half-Elf Racial Hybrid:

Half-Elves are even more of an anomaly than either of their parents. In fact, similar to how Ligers and Tigons are not individual species, Half-Elves are not technically considered their own race. While interspecies couplings are not nearly as taboo or frowned upon as they have been in the past, they are still somewhat of an uncommon occurrence. As 80% of human-elf pregnancies result in a female baby, half elf males are a rarity among rarities.

Half-Elves can inherit the best and worst traits from either parent, but sometimes they combine to create something entirely different. They could receive the virility, naturally fast healing, denser bone and muscular structure of their human half, or they could inherit the densely complex nervous system, high tensile strength and flexibility of the muscular, connective, and skeletal structures of their elven half. Often (about 50% of the time for both sexes), half elves inherit the best of both halves, and become something completely different from either race. These are called Apotheoses and are highly valued in any nice they decide to fill, as they take the positive physical traits of each race, and increase their respective abilities to their peak.

Apotheoses are highly adept examples of the positive effects of racial cooperation. They are part of the reason that human-elf unions are no longer taboo, and are responsible in part for many integrations of human and elf societies. As for their traits, they are long lived, with the peak muscular density combined with incredible flexibility. Intuition and zeal combine with long-term planning and quick processing speed that often forms a mind that is stellar even among geniuses.

Half-Elf Males

Just as incongruous as their existence, their reproductive compatibility is an enigma unto itself. A Half-Elf Male is only reproductively compatible with the race of his mother, whether it be human or elf with the exception of another half-elf female.

Half-Elf males are just as diverse, if not more varied than both of their counterparts. While the Apotheoses gain the best of either half’s sexual traits, the rest typically fall between either of their parents’ average for their race. Even though half-elf males are only reproductively compatible, that does not stop them from seeking romantic and sexual relationships with any of the typical sentient races within Gristhaia. One thing that is rare among all half-elves in these times is any shame of their heritage. Though Apotheoses have obvious cause to be proud of their lineage, even an “average” half-elf is no longer any more likely to be ashamed of their lineage than any other race would be as they would in days past.
