HUNGER!

You look around, taking in your strange surroundings, when suddenly it hits you. Hunger, like you've never felt before. Hunger that feels like you've never EATEN before. You're starving, a deep craving for something you've never tasted, and you know that you need to find it. You need to eat.

You walk through the woods, the thought of your surroundings feeling so strange slowly being consumed by the need for some kind of sustenance until you smell something. An odour sweeter than honey, more succulent than a steak. It's so strong, so delicious, that you can taste it, and you begin to salivate. This is what you crave. This is what you need. You have to find it, to eat it. You have to eat.

Following the scent, you eventually come across a strange, flat surface. The ground is black, lines traced up and down its surface and reaching beyond the horizon in both directions. It feels cool as your bare feet step along with it, cool like the brisk breeze that gently caresses your skin. But you can't enjoy it. You can't enjoy anything. You're too hungry.

You hear something, some animal, with a strange chittering you've never heard before. It's like music, and you follow it. Coming over a small hill, you see the source: two strange beings, walking on two legs and waving arms about in the air as they continue that song-like chittering. And they glow. It seems faint at first, but with every step that you take closer to them they glow brighter, the breeze feels stronger, and that taste... it's overwhelming. This is what you've been craving. You need that glow.

You stalk ever closer to the creatures, every step causing you to drool even more. They don't even notice your silent footfalls growing nearer, don't even make a move. Not until you grab one. Then the other shrieks, a piercing sound that tears through you, and starts to run. You don't care. You need only one, and you already have it in your grasp. It struggles, quivering and shaking, so you bite it. You feel your teeth breaking its skin, taste it as you drink it. Your mind explodes, assaulted by the unexpected euphoria of the feeding. It's an **** of pure pleasure, one you gladly consume until there's nothing left to consume.

When you've finished, the glow is gone, the strange chittering creature leaving no remains. All that's left is a child, peering into the darkness of the night, filled with curiosity.
