Guided tour

"Unless you have further questions, you are free to go," said the Captain.

"Thank you," you replied, and then turned and headed out, finally letting out a torrent of tears. It was going to take a while to come to terms with the loss of all your crew mates on the Odyssey, a few of whom had become close friends over the past few years. Thinking about them and the crash made you feel queasy. Eventually you realized you weren't alone. A floating geodesic shape was hovering near you, as if it were waiting for something.

"What are you?" you asked.

"This is a Multi-Purpose Auxiliary Device, model designation M-P-A-D-Dash-Two-Four. It's current task is to serve as your guide. Please state the location would you like to see next, or select option for guided tour."

After the bad news about the Odyssey's crew, you'd nearly forgotten that the Doctor had mentioned something about taking a tour after visiting with the Captain. At this point, you knew very little about the ship, so the guided tour was probably the best option. "I'll take the guided tour." Maybe it would help take your mind off your lost crew mates.

MPAD-24 promptly began to describe the ship. "The Starpoint is comprised of eight levels with elevators providing access points between them. You are currently on the top floor, known as Command level. It contains the main bridge and officer quarters. Below this is the 2nd level. It is known as Crew level and it contains quarters for most of the crew. The third level is the Commons level which contains the dining hall, main viewing windows, quarters for passengers, and some additional quarters for the crew. The fourth level is the Science level which contains the medical bay and research labs. The fifth level is the Engineering level which provides access to the ship's primary systems for power, environmental control, communication and navigation. The sixth level is known as the Maintenance level and it includes facilities for waste processing and recycling. The seventh and eighth levels are Storage levels."
