Grab the scarf

You double check to make sure the girls are still distracted by talking to each other and then you jump over the counter. You quickly grab Emma's scarf and turn around to leave but you notice another scarf. It's a brown and green handwoven scarf that a coworker use to wear before they went missing.

You start to wonder if all of these scarves belonged to people who have gone missing. As you get engrossed inspecting other scarves you don't notice someone sneaking up on you.

In a harsh tone you hear, "What do you think you're doing mister?" You spin around to see that it is one of the girls that was talking two booths over.

She has a stern look on her face and with her hands on her hips. She's at least a head shorter than you with dyed red hair and a black and red corset hugging a slender frame. She looks to be about 18 maybe 19 years old. "Don't just stand there gawking at me. What are you doing?"

You think about grabbing the scarf and threatening her to let you leave. She's tiny compared to you and you feel you could easily scare her away. You hesitate though because she seems confident about herself. Maybe you should just tell the truth.
