Grab a sturdy branch and rescue them

You grab a stout tree branch that is about eight feet long. You walk into the bog, picking your way through the swampy footing. You almost get stuck in a hidden pool of muck, but manage to get your foot out.

The person has seen you and shouts at you. You can tell it's a woman or older girl. Only her head and her hands are out of the morass. You find a patch of solid ground within reach of the woman. You extend the tree limb to her.

She shouts excitedly and slowly removes her arms from the goo. Her skin is covered in sticky mud. She manages to grasp the wood, and you start pulling her out of the bog.
