Goodbyes

Abigail and Geoff walked into the living room, where they were met by the smell of Spencer's cooking, which was a noticeable improvement on previous years. Heading towards the kitchen area, Abigail saw Dani and Spencer working on a meal.

"Good morning." She said.

"Oh." Dani turned around. "Hey guys. Happy new year."

"Happy new year."

"So what's for breakfast?"

"Uhh, lunch actually." Dani corrected.

"Oh." Abigail laughed for a second. "Guess we slept in."

"Good way to start the new year."

"I guess so."

"No different from last year." Geoff shrugged.

Spencer then plates up his meal. "Well hopefully lunch will be different."

"Well at least you didn't burn anything this year." Abigail jested.

"New year new me." Spencer replied, with a huge grin.

After lunch and a coffee, Abigail and Geoff decided it was time to leave. Once packed, they said goodbye to Amy and headed to their car, with Spencer and Dani helping them carry their luggage.

"Well, hope to see you guys soon." Spencer said.

"Sure. Lovely seeing you all." Abigail then turned to Dani. "And a pleasure to meet you Dani."

"Pleasure to meet the two of you." Dani said.

The two exchanged a hug, where Abigail whispered. "You be good to Spencer."

"I will."

Abigail and Geoff then got into their car. As Geoff drove off, Abigail waved goodbye to Spencer and Danielle with a smile. Whilst she'd always miss her own daughter, Abigail was glad that Spencer had found someone again. If he was going to be with someone else, she wanted it to be the woman standing next to him right now.
