Going home.

After dressing the two of you go down to the apartment building's parking lot, and get into your rental for the drive to your parents house.

"So," You say as you pull out of the lot, "since she already know me as a special friend, how are we going to introduce me as her father? We don't want to confuse her..." You glance at Doe, and see she's smiling at you.

"I already told her."

"Huh? Then...what?"

"Well, I had told her Monday morning that I'd be introducing someone very special to her that afternoon or night. She picks up on stuff very quickly. She immediately asked if it would be her daddy. She already called your parents grandma and grandpa, so it wasn't a stretch."

"Yeah? How did she keep it a secret."

"Because I told her you wouldn't know. Not yet, anyway."

"Ah...so...I mean if things had gone differently over the past couple of days..."

"I'd have told you regardless. It's something you had to know. I'm just glad that it didn't come to that, you know? I'm glad, ecstatic in fact, that we were able to well, come together. No pun intended."

You smile, "But not a bad one, since we did four times."

Doe giggles, "Yeah."

You reach over and take her hand in yours as you make the rest of the trip in silence, just enjoying each others company. You wonder how Courtney is going to react to this news as you pull into your parent's driveway.
