Go out for Pie (The End) (I wanted Pie ending)

"Oh, cool." I nodded. "So, you're a total bitch. Good to know."

"Huh?" Eris looked at me coldly. "That's it? No argument, no lecture, no complaints, no sex? Nothing?"

"Nope." I commented and began to walk towards the small path which lead up the winding dirt switchback towards the road.

"Hey... Hey! That's... no reaction? Nothing? Hey! Where you going?"

"This was a stupid game. And I am a little hungry." I replied. "All that walking... well, I was going to make brunch, but I don't even know what time it is any more. All I know is that I feel like pie for some reason, and I am going to go get one."

"Well, you can just ask me for it!" Eris replied brightly. "See, simple! Just ask my name, and poof, it's yours."

"Yeah, but it's a nice walk," I smiled, enjoying the feel of dirt under my shoes. Eris was scurrying after me, the apple still held in her hand.

"Hey! HEY! Didn't you hear me?" Eris asked to my back as I began the ascent towards the road.

"Oh I did. Do you want pie too? I think it's only a couple miles to town."

"Why... what are you doing, here Brent. This doesn't make any sense. You can just HAVE it... why are you... You're a weird guy, you know?" Eris called after me, and I could hear the sound of her feet scrabbling up the dirt behind me.

"Can't you fly?" I asked, noting that she seemed to lose her footing for a moment following me.

"Yeah... yeah, I can, but I have to maintain forward... it's complicated. Short version. Where are... where are you going?" Eris asked as I reached the road.

"So... town was back that way..." I pointed in the swirling fog. "And the city's that way... but I don't feel like hiking twenty miles."

"You don't have to hike if you want..."

"You're right. I could run, but I don't think I'm in that good shape. Would probably be out of breath when I got there." I turned, walking backwards along the road. It was pretty simple as the white line at my feet made it a lot easier. Elevate to the toe, and step back, again... this is actually, kinda fun. Hard on the calves, but maybe I'd get used to it. Far easier to walk on the narrow line anyway.

Eris walked after me, her face taking on a quizzical expression.

"You're not explaining yourself." She remarked with a strange expression. I inclined my head at her and smiled enigmatically.

"I didn't think I had to. Somebody doesn't like it, after all, they can always pretend it didn't happen. What part of Fuck off, I'm ignoring you because you're a bitch can't you get? I think I made it pretty clear?"

"You don't have to go through any of this, you know. All you have to do..."

"I know, ask you for something. But when I do that, I don't do it. I don't experience it."

The corner of Eris' mouth twitched for a second before a much harder expression came forth.

"Are you really pulling the "Getting there is half the fun" card? That was an old one even before you were born."

"Oh, so you're telling me, that in all of the stories you've heard and told, you've had one where after betrayal the main characters just go out and have pie?"

"Uh... well, uhm... it's a very... uh.... feels kinda Super Mario, doesn't it?" Eris commented. "What's next, you want to take the gals bowling?"

"Speaking of which, my cousin Niko hasn't called in such a long time."

"You're... not going to finish the game, are you?"

"Oh I will. Eventually."

"So... pie?"

"Yeah."

"I could eat."
