Go into town

You decide that going down into town will give you the best chance to find out what going on, and the more people you can find, the better.

You glance back again, and see that Evie is still following you in silence, her eyes downcast and face expressionless.

The quickest way to get to town is a shortcut through a nearby forest, and you begin to make tracks towards it.

As you walk in silence through the dull grey college, it gives you time to ponder what has happened. Events rushed by so quickly you had no chance to consider the situation, what with the sudden appearance of emotion demons, the numerous deaths, and your own binding of a demon and subsequent victory. Your entire world has been turned upside down, but surprisingly you feel no sadness at this, only elation and excitement. Finally you have acquired power like you always dreamed of, and a situation where you can actually thrive. You see an image of yourself, a powerful figure surrounded by girls, worshipped and revered by many, and feel a sudden rush of excitement. Yes, this is what you had been waiting for your entire life.

You approach the forest, the dull light making the normally inviting trees seem brooding and evil. You dismiss your feelings as irrational, and continue to approach the wood. However much you attempt to deny it however, a tiny, insistent voice echoes in your head, trying to tell you that something is wrong.

You look behind you at Evie, but her emotionless face betrays nothing about her feelings. You turn back to face the wood.
