Go find the market and buy supplies.

Kheden agrees that you'll need some basic travel provisions like food and gear and whatever they have for healing. Neither of you are expecting much in the way of ghosts. But you may end up camping up at the mansion, and there's a strong chance of meeting bandits again.

The innkeeper's direction to the market are easy enough, but you can practically follow the smell of food shortly after you exit the inn. The marketplace is lively, but they probably won't have anything particularly interesting. There are the expected sellers of cooked meat, dried salted fish, farming and other tools, and clothiers selling plain brown and gray garments made of rough material.

In the far corner there's a booth occupied by an eccentrically-dressed old man selling old books and a variety of baubles filled with various colors of liquids. His wares may prove interesting. He catches you inspecting his booth and waves you over with a sly smile. You apparently don't look the part of these farmers and dockworkers and may actually be interested in his wares.

“Why don't you get the usuals, and I'll see of that old gille has anything worth our coin.” Kheden nods silently and breaks off.

The colorfully-dressed old merchant stands as you approach, and you hear some bells or metal adornments jingle as he moves. “I can tell you're a man of needs and interests beyond this provincial town. I've a potion for almost any need you can imagine.” He gestures broadly along his assortment of mostly spherical corked vials. He seems to pause, then indicates a small bookshelf with sparsely populated with various manuals and even instruction on alchemy. “You look like a learned man. Perhaps I have a subject of interest?”
