Go find the art teacher

You carefully cut the paper in half, keeping the bottom cartoon with the half-naked schoolgirl and the caption to your self for now, but putting the other caricature in a manila folder to keep it from getting damaged as you started your investigation.

Finding the art teacher is a matter of legwork. From the your map you locate the two art classrooms in the one of the buildings you have yet to visit. The Roscoe-Williams pavilion appears to be where the fine arts are taught. As you walk towards the modern looking structure you see an amphitheater with seating built into the surrounding slopes. It is reminiscent of the ruins of old theaters you saw in Greece and Turkey when you were deployed in Europe but overhead are towers and crossbeams loaded with sophisticated lighting and special-effects gadgetry. You are reminded once again of the money and influence this school has.

Inside the Pavilion you stumble into the music wing first. There are rooms for band, chorus and orchestra as well as several smaller soundproof practice rooms. You are surprised again by the lack of locks on the doors, and peek inside the rooms as you walk by. Two of the practice rooms have pianos and in one a full drum set ready for any enterprising percussionist. While it would be a herculean task to try to steal one of the pianos, in your school these rooms would be locked if only to keep those who don't belong away from the expensive instruments. Yet another example of how things are different in a moneyed academy like the Rose.

The art rooms are upstairs on the south-facing side of the building. Like the music rooms below you are able to walk right in and find a collection of sculptures, charcoal sketches and even some oils scattered about the studios. The plate-glass windows that let in copious amounts of afternoon sunlight overlook the small lake that is the Southern boundary of the property, but you did not come here for the scenic views. There are two teacher's nameplates on the doors. Ms. Anderson and Mrs. Somersby-Walters, but neither of the teachers or even any of their students anywhere in the building.

Walking back to the grassy quad you spot a group of four young women in shorts and bikini tops sunbathing on colourful blankets. One of the four is a little chubby, but the other three are all strikingly pretty with pleasant personalities who are more than willing to help. From them you learn that the drawing teacher is Mrs. Somersby-Walters and that she stays in cottage 2. After your first few impressions of the students at this school, you are a little relieved to find that some attendees at least are people that would be a pleasure to teach.

Cottage #2 is closer than most of the others and in no time you are knocking on the door. The silver-haired woman who opens the door greats you with a stern look and gives no sign of moving from the doorway.

"Yes?" She asks in the manner that people have when you are intruding on their personal time and space.

"I'm sorry to bother you Ms. Somers-"

"Mrs." She interrupts you before you can even get out her name. "I am not Ms. anything."

"I'm sorry to bother you Mrs. Somersby-Walters." You try again, stressing the title this time. "My name is Kyle Hawkfeather and I'm trying to find the artist that drew this." You hand her the folder and watch her face carefully as she gets her first look at the sketch. "Do you know who it could be?"
