Give the party a miss.

You aren’t really in the mode to see a bunch of strippers parading around and by now you have missed most of the dance. You get there with about forty minutes remaining of the night. Too late for you to have any chance of picking up, especially without a date. You meet up with your next-door neighbor Rebecca and just spend what time is left dancing with her and her friends. With the last song over you call it a night and go on back to your house.

You arrive home and the house is deserted. Your parents are away on business and your sister is still at the concert with Trish. You have something to eat and drink before showering in preparation for bed. You read a magazine for a while as you listen to a Supergrass CD. Half an hour must have passed before you fall asleep unable to keep your eyes open any longer. The magazine drops to the floor and the CD eventually ends its rotation.

You are awoken an unknown time later that evening by the weight of someone crawling onto your double bed. The lights are all off even though you fell asleep with yours on. You call out, “Who the fuck is that?”

“Just me.” You are relieved to hear your sister’s voice reply. “Sorry to wake you but you remember saying that I owed you big time for selling me the ticket? Well, I thought I could pay some of it off now perhaps? I’ve got a surprise for you.” You have no idea what she means and you can’t see a thing in the pitch-black room.

"Come on sis it's late and I hate surprises," you protest.

"I can guarantee you'll love this one."
