Getting Married

Written from John's perspective

I buttoned my jacket and looked at myself in the mirror. The tux did look good on me, although it wasn't too adventureous. I finished off my last beer as Sam yelled from the other room

"You almost ready dude? The limo should be here in in a few. "

"Yeah be out in a second. " I respond as I walk out into the other room. Mark and Sam have their tuxes on and look ready to do this. "Hey guys I want to say thanks for being my groomsmen, I really appreciate it. "

"Yeah, yeah" Mark says. "If you are gonna make the biggest mistake of your life, we might as well be along for the ride" He smiled jokingly at me.

"Well enough mushy stuff, the Limo is here lets go." Sam said.

We walked out to the limo and got in. The driver turned around and looked through the window and said "Alright are we all here? Great lets get on the road. Oh and by the way the girls left some champagne back there for you."

That suprised me. Lauren had been adament that we not drink before the ceremony. Maybe her mom and sisters had convinced her otherwise.

Opening up the cooler I see a bottle of champange and a note. Opening the note I read it and it says

"Hey future Hubby! I'm like so excited to see you later. I bet you look extra hot in you tux. I'm also excited for what we are gonna get up to tonight if you know what I mean.

I laugh because it must be a joke as Mark hands me a glass of Champagne. We cheers and drink as we pull up to the church. I thank the driver and we get out. Standing in the parking lot is Michelle, our wedding planner. She is an older woman, probably in her 40's and she is wearing a pantsuit with a headset on chattering non-stop.

"Alright the guys are here, right on time. I'll take them back and let the priest know."

She turns to face us. "Alright guys lets get moving." She leads us to a small room off to the side of the acutal church. Inside there are a few bottle of water and some chairs. "So guys you are gonna stay in here until I come and tell you how to line up. Do you remember what you have to do?" She asks as she walks over and adjusts Sam's tie. We all nod in unison.

"Great great" She says "Did you remember the ring?" Mark nods and pats his pocket where the ring is.

"Perfect. I'm gonna go check on the girls and then I will be back to tell you when to enter the church." She says walking away. "Oh and John, Lauri looks great. You are gonna love it."

We manage to make some small talk as we wait, everyone feeling the nerves. What felt like an eternity but was really only like 10 mintues later, Michelle comes back and says. "Alright boys time to go."

We enter the church and it is the first time I see the turnout. I don't recognize most of the faces, which makes sense since the wedding is overwhelmingly Lauren's family. Almost 90 percent of the wedding comes from her side. This is really just because I don't have much family to speak of. Both of my parents died years ago, I was mostly raised by my uncle, the only sibling either of my parents had. He has two sons also, my cousins, who are idiots but they mean well. All of them are here. Also I have several friends from my Computer Engineering days at college. They are all seated near the front and start to hoot and holler a bit when they see me.

Looking to the other side I see Lauren's mom. This woman was insanely hot for a woman of her age and today she looks better than ever, although I don't know if that dress is appropriate for a house of god. Then the procession starts. First down is Lauren's sister Jennifer. She is somehow able to walk down the aisle in a way that looks both dignified and sexy. I can tell her hips are swaying in her tight and short dress. I can see some of Lauren's feminist friends looking on in disgust. as she gets to the front she winks at me seductively. I wonder what that was all about. Next came Candice, her other sister. Same happened with her, same walk, same disgusted feminists, same wink.

Finally the music changed and it was the moment of truth. Everyone rose and it was time to see the bride
