Get me the hell out of here! Take me back to Cyndi!

You immediately run from the gray buildings, running from the men in suits, running from the field altogether, back to Cyndi. Whatever is going on there, you know it can't be good, and it'll be even worse if you stay.

For a moment, it seems as if reality has shifted a little. It's more difficult to get away from the buildings than it was to approach them. It's as if a little pocket of reality has been created, and it is expanding around you.

Fortunately, you do manage to get away, and back to Cyndi. "Get in the car, Cyndi. Take me away from here!"

"Yes..." she responds. You note that she has an unusual lack of concern for the sense of urgency you display for retreating from this area, nor any interest in what it was you saw in the field. She simply obeys your instructions as if that was what she was programmed to do.

Once you are far enough away, you scream, "What the hell was that?"

Cyndi just says, "I don't know," in a blank monotone.

"I almost got pulled into another dimension! I'm jumping out of my bones here, and that's all you have to say?"

"What do you want me to say?" she responds, again displaying no real emotion. It's at that point that you realize that she's merely an obedient puppet. She's just obeying your orders. She's not actually thinking about them.

As soon as Cyndi starts driving back towards the hospital, you begin to calm down a little bit to think. "Cyndi, we need to get someone who will understand what's going on there. Is there a team of scientists that we can find to investigate this area?"

"Yes. The university has a team of geologists that will be able to investigate this area."

You begin to think if you want to go to the team of scientists now to have them investigate, or if you want more time to calm down from this trauma first, and then you can go to the research team more level headedly.

You're still breathing heavily as the car speeds down the road.
