Get comfortable

You decided to make a fire and to get comfortable. Since you're both "partners", you also come to the agreement that you should get to know each other. At the current moment, you wouldn't to your neck on the line for her for no reason. She sits on the floor, near the fire as it cracks and starts to warm you. The night, at the very least, wasn't very cold. This was the ideal moment for small talking. You dug around in your bag and pulled out a chocolate bar. You unwrapped it and snapped it off, offering the (slightly) smaller piece to her.

Scarlet's dark blue eyes widened. "What's this?" You shrug, saying something to the degree of everyone loves chocolate. Scarlet slowly took one of her hands out in front of her to grab it from you. She brings it to her nose and smells it, letting out a disappointment groan. "Dark chocolate?"

She brought her knees up and curled in a loose ball. She then grunts and starts eating it. You tell her she didn't have to eat it, but she gives you a **** smiled and thanks you for considering it even. Nice. Good start.

You pull your legs up too, while you give your welcome to her and then stayed quiet. If this was Delilah, the silence that came afterwards wouldn't have felt this awkward. You both watched the flames dance, listening to it snap and pop every so often. You're about to say something when you look up at her. She truly is beautiful. Everything from her dirty blonde locks, stormy blue eyes, and narrow nose just forms an attractive woman. If it weren't for her evil intelligent stare you would have been surprised to know she was in the same line of work as you. She swallows and looks up at you, apparently missing the lust in your eyes as she spoke.

"I would have kicked your ass if you didn't have the drop on me, by the way."

An awkward smile curled on your lips. You weren't really sure how to reply to that statement. You click your lips and droop your head, telling her that you aren't sure still would have. She goes on to say that you had complete advantage. You weren't sure who you were expecting, so you were already on guard. She, on the other hand, was only expecting someone that wasn't supposed to shoot at her. Sure, she had the decoy placed in the center of the room, but that was for security purposes - if she heard someone shoot or knock that down, that would have been her "go signal". You bypassed that and searched the building right away, not really giving her a chance to do anything besides hide.

"What were you doing in the closet?" You ask.

She smiled, you for the first time genuinely. "Oh, you know...Touching myself." She answers flatly.

"Seriously? While on the job?" You ask, missing her sarcastic tone.

"Not, not seriously, you idiot. I was sleeping - I didn't feel comfortable being in the main room so I just cuddled up in there and decided to rest in there." She sighs pops her knuckles. "In all honesty though, I would have kicked your ass! I'm sure you have your talents and whatever, but I haven't met anyone that could dance around an opponent as well as I can and be so aggressive."

"I don't know," you say. "From my point of view, I won fair and square."

She cocks her head. "Well, how about a rematch then?"

You smile. "I don't want to hurt you."

Scarlet growls. "We're not going to kill each other, just a quick spar. No guns, no knives, just fists."

Some air leaves your nose. "Sure, I guess if that'll make you feel better. I'm still expecting the same outcome though."

"Ah blow it up your ass. I know I'm about to win this time." She stands up and offers her hand to help you up too. "Alright, come on lets do this."
