Get Out Of There

Wait! What the hell are you doing? You step back, in shock of what you almost did. Were you really about to willingly enter the mansion where those latex freaks were? You turn around to start running away, but are interrupted by a loud growling coming from off to your left. Gulping, you turn to see the latex wolf and cat standing beside an open gate, with several other latex animals, such as a panther, horse, dog, alligator, pig, and even a wasp. They are all eyeing you with suspicion.

That is all the incentive you need. You turn and start booking it away from the crowd, just as it cries out behind you and gives chase. You hear the thick sounds of their feet hitting the pavement behind you as you turn a corner and begin running down Main Street, which is surprising devoid of people. You are about to keep running forward when a latex rabbit appears out of nowhere in front of you. Screaming, you go to turn back, but the huge crowd is only about a block behind. The rabbit begins running towards you and with no other option, you duck into a nearby alley.

You run this way and that with no real plan, trying to lose the creatures altogether or at least delay them. Soon, you think you have lost them and turn another corner, only to see something sitting against the wall.

It's a massive latex kangaroo, and it appears to be quietly sobbing. A quick examination of it reveals it's female, due to the pouch on its front, and that it used to be a human, due to the ripped remains of a pair of pants and a jacket laying nearby.

The kangaroo turns and sees you, cries out, and looks away, crying even harder. You feel moved with pity and come closer to try and comfort it without touching it. It sees the concerned look on your face and sniffles before tilting its head. It appears to understand the compassion you have for it. It even attempts a smile, but it's hard to read it a such due to the creature's muzzle.

Before you can do anything else, you hear growling nearby and the sound of feet hitting pavement coming from somewhere nearby. The latex animals are closing in. You turn and are about to run when the kangaroo frantically waves it's paw, trying to tell you something. You see that it's pointing to its pouch, which could easily fit you, due to the creature's massive size. You realize the kangaroo is offering to hide you in her pouch as the animals run by.

You don't know what to do. The kangaroo appears sane enough to understand you, and would therefore probably not try and trick you. On the other hand, it may just be faking it's humanity now or trying to stall you long enough so that it can either transform you or get you caught by the pack. As the first shadow appears nearby, you make your decision.
