Gatta's plan, a 2v2 melee

Seeing you hesitate, your companion eggs you on, "C'mon, I know you're weak but I thought you knew how to fight!" You decide to let her teasing work and toss aside your bow. You unsheathe your twin short swords after giving a pocket in your armor a quick pat. You two ready yourselves in the clearing away from the spring and Gatta gives a loud warcry.

As if in response the pair of Cyclopses lumber out from the woods. A duo of 8ft tall one-eyed giants emerge, a man and a woman, both carrying rough hewn wooden clubs larger than your whole body. Gatta charges forward in a rage, drawing the Cyclopses into striking range. Using her charge as a distraction you quickly dash to flank the closest one, the female on your right. She seems preoccupied deflecting a blow from Gatta that she doesn't see you running at her from a blind spot. You lash out with both blades, leaving two slashes along her lower leg - shallower than you had hoped. The scratched cyclops whips her club at you without looking but you manage to leap away, catching yourself with a roll. You see Gatta is parrying the other cyclops but hasn't been able to get a hit in yet. You dash past your injured foe to the back of the male cyclops engaged with Gatta. You leap into the air, slashing the full length down its back. "Shallow again" you hiss to yourself. The female cyclops has caught up to you and delivers a powerful kick that sends you flying away. The wind knocked out of you, you are stunned momentarily. As you lay still on the ground, Gatta uses the opening you've given her on the male cyclops to bury her greatsword in its shoulder before ripping it out and spinning out of the way of the female's crashing club. You manage to right yourself and get back into the fray. Gatta is busy blocking one cyclops while dodging the other so you decide to get some **** on the one that kicked you. You sprint in behind the monster and stab into her other leg with both blades. Much deeper. You twist and pull leaving a gruesome gash in her leg, hopefully slowing her down. The female cyclops turns to you once more, raising the club above her head with both arms. Before she can swing down Gatta disengages from a sloppy attack from the male cyclops and brings her greatsword down onto the fresh wound, cleaving the limb off.

Gatta moves to the head of the female cyclops as she falls, nodding at you to cover for her. You nod back, running to confront the other monster that regained its footing and is rapidly approaching. He brings his fist down at you from above but you manage to side step it. You also catch that this was a feint and dodge the club following the fist. What you don't catch is the second feint as his fist catches you in the chest, knocking you back. Before the cyclops can move in to finish you he hears the cries of his ally falling to Gatta's sword. Your foe rushes at Gatta with a shoulder charge and pushes her to the ground on her face. As he reels back to deliver a killing blow you sprint ahead between them dropping a sword and reaching into a pocket and pulling out a bag of crushed glass. You throw the powder in the monster's sole eye, blinding him with a howl. Gatta rises and swings her sword down on the vision impaired cyclops, lopping its head clear from its shoulders.

Gatta looks at with a smile, "I should have guessed you had another dirty trick left in you." You return the smile but can't retort before you collapse, the pain from the blows hitting all at once.
