Follow the carriage people

Cyrus opted for following the carriage people. He had no idea what could live in the darker part of the forest. This no longer seemed like Earth and there could be some some very dangerous creatures deeper in the woods. There could also be some farther ahead on this path as well, but at least he could see those coming.

As he walked down the path, he started to hear the flute again. Maybe the flute player was with the horse and carriage? Regardless, it seemed to get louder as he walked, meaning they had likely stopped for a break or something. Perhaps he would catch up with these people and he could travel with them. Cyrus sure hoped so. He'd only been walking about two hours, but he was barefoot and he could feel blisters forming on his feet. Not to mention he was parched. Going to sleep by accident with his knife in his pocket was one thing, but he hadn't had a water bottle in his pocket and he hadn't drank anything since he woke up.

But what if these people were hostile? He had no way of knowing. For all he knew they would kill him on sight and take his stuff.

As he walked towards the flute, he spotted a camp in the distance through the trees. He watched as two of the occupants went into the carriage.
