Follow Doctor Crusher

Doctor Crusher left hir quarters and headed to 10 Forward in search of potential targets to be assimilated. The number of crew who spent their off hours in 10 Forward was usually somewhere around 30-40. These crewmen and officers would be the perfect first targets as they would have their guard down. It would make the task of assimilating them that much easier. Doctor Crusher walked over to an unoccupied table and sat down. Shi scanned the room slowly looking for hir first "victim". Spotting a young ensign, shi stood up and walked over to the young man. Upon seeing the superior officer, the young man stood and saluted. He was clearly just out of the Academy as most seasoned officers would simply have nodded or referred to the doctor by hir title. The doctor smiled at the ensign's gesture.

"At ease, ensign before you sprain something. I do enjoy my job," Doctor Crusher thought to hirself about just which job shi was referring to, "but that does not mean I want you to need my skills. May I sit with you, Ensign?"

The young man nearly pissed himself on the spot at hearing a superior officer ask such a thing of him. Nodding his head, he indicated one of the other two chairs positioned around the table. Doctor Crusher sat with ease as shi looked over the young man sitting across from hir. He was very handsome and rather slender. Noting the drink in his hand, Crusher scanned the beverage then asked the young ensign if she might bring him another drink as he was clearly in need of a refill. Blushing furiously, the young man, whose name Doctor Crusher had yet to get, nodded quickly. Doctor Crusher stood slowly and, looking down at the young human, asked him what he was drinking. While shi could clearly tell exactly what he was drinking from hir initial scan, shi needed to maintain hir disguise.

Shi walked over to the bar and obtained the beverage in question. As shi walked back, 1 of 9 added a special "ingredient" to the drink. Shi was, after all, an experimental type of drone. Sitting slowly in the seat across from the young ensign again, 1 of 9 handed him the drink and told him to drink up. It took but a few moments for the nanites in the drink to begin their work on the young man whose name would now and forever be a number within the vastness of the Collective. The new drone (for now known as 1 of X) looked to 1 of 9 and awaited its first command.

"1 of X, you will continue to function as the former human ensign the humans know. You shall disguise your true form with the holodisguise you have been given. All of our activities aboard this ship must remain secret until such time as the experiment is successful. You may assimilate others of your rank or lower. But in all things we must not be revealed until the time is right."

"Affirmative. This drone will remain under cover until it is time to reveal ourselves. Resistance is futile. Assimilation is inevitable. Stealth is utmost."

1 of 9, aka Doctor Crusher, smiled slightly at the drone's new "mission statement". While it was somewhat inaccurate, it would do until such time as the Enterprise was fully assimilated. Doctor Crusher noted with some minor pleasure that the ensign...former ensign...had shifted slightly to become a bit more feminine. Like all of the new drones, 1 of 9 would be "immune" to the disguise employed by other drones. This was to ensure that drones did not waste time assimilating crewmen who had already been assimilated. Crusher also noted that the drone now was physically much more feminine. The shift had left the new drone just as dual gendered as 1 of 9 hirself.
