First Blood

You struggled to try to overpower the Scrafty. 'Dammit! I can't lose here.' you thought as you started to gather electricity within your body, but instead of unleashing it, you focused it to your left hand, let it back, and swung at him. He doesn't have a chance to react as he was hit in the jaw hard. He staggers back from the impact, which gives you an opening to swing around and smack him with an iron tail attack. the Scrafty landed on his back. You're glad your dad taught you that move, you could've wasted a lot of your power on one Pokemon.

Through heavy breaths, you yell, "You done? You want more?" The Scrafty struggles to get up while coughing up blood and says, "You're better than I thought, but just wait. You'll learn that in a world like this, it's every Pokemon for itself, trust will just make you soft." You tense up a bit from his words, but you look at him and say, "Everyone here is suffering, and that’s your excuse?! You think you’re tough because you prey on unsuspecting victims, but you’re nothing but a coward who takes the easy route!" “Foolish boy!" He cried and shot a sludge bomb at you.

You dodged, but it caught you off guard and you fell on your back. You look up and see the Scrafty charging at you. Panicking, you put your feet up as he lunged at you and you threw him over you. You hadn't realized the edge of the cave floor a foot behind you, and he fell down into the darkness. All you can hear are his screams and the echoing thud at the end.

You sat yourself up, looked at the direction you threw him and stared at the abyss. All the scraggy recovered and saw what you did. They then bolted past the three of you and ran out of where you've entered. You know he would've killed you and the others, but you never meant for him to die. You hear Kate and Rachael rushing towards you. “Rai! You ok?" The Buneary asks you.

You jolted in surprise, but you relaxed when you turned to stare at her, then back at the edge. “Big bro?" Your sister spoke, concerned to see her brother looking like that. “I'm alright, it's just that I've never meant for it to happen." Rachael put her paw on your shoulder. “Rai, it's not your fault. He would've done the same to us without pity." she tried to explain. “I know, but it doesn't make it easier to hear."

Rachael then sat next to you, your sister doing the same. The three of you sat there for a little while before you got up and told them they should go. They nod and grab their bags as they headed on, recovering physically from the fight, thankfully no one suffered any serious injury. Once everyone's ready, you three continued on to the exit.
