Finish the puzzle
Mindy and I continue the puzzle, no longer competing and not sure what we should talk about. She eventually heats a pot of soup and prepares a salad for us to eat a proper meal. The act of eating together helps to normalize things between us and we slide back into friendly conversation.
We finish the puzzle as the storm shows signs of breaking up late in the evening. When it is time to sleep, I offer to take the couch and she gets me a pillow and blanket.
