Chapter 2 by unisol_gr44 unisol_gr44

What is the first mission?

Find and save a few damsels-in-distress.(First adventure)

“Why thank you for stopping your bickering a moment to pay attention to the important bits,” Khala rolled her eyes at her two friends, “Now, have a look at this, will you?” The half-elf pointed at the garbed map on the table. “I marked all the villages and hamlets, where people have gone missing in the last few weeks.”
The elven sorceress and the Human warrioress leaned in to see better.
“I didn’t see any pattern at first, but look at this valley in the mountains,” Khala pointed to a location on the map to their north-east, “It’s close enough to attack all of these places in the night and return before dawn. What do you think?”

Mira nodded along as Khala laid out her theory, “I trust your judgement, you know I’m not good with this stuff. It’s our best bet up to now, anyhow.”

“The mayor said a group of mercenaries took up the job a few days ago, you think they went there too?” Ariane said.

“If they did, they either couldn’t find anything or… they found something and didn’t live to tell the tale,” Mira gulped.

Ariane brushed off Mira’s worries, “Or they just thought it wasn’t worth the effort and left, don’t be so gloomy, we’ll be fine.”

“I’ll stop you there—before you two start bickering again—we don’t know what happened to those guys and it shouldn’t matter for our mission,” Khala reined in her companions, “Anyway, we better get going soon.”

Ariane frowned, “But you didn’t even touch your fish-stew yet. It’s pretty good—when it’s warm, that is.”

“Shoud've taken the roasted duck like me, much better than some old fish,” Mira laughed.

Khala looked down, having forgotten about her food, “Oh, yes, I better eat something before we depart. I always forget everything else when I’m focusing.” The half-elf took a spoonful of cold stew and gulped it down.

Finishing up their meal and packing the maps and scrolls away, the three friends rose from their table and left the tavern. Making their way onto the road, the three friends set out on their quest to rescue the missing women. A gentle breeze was blowing across the trees surrounding them as they travelled towards the valley. What manner of bandits or beasts they would face at their destination, they did not yet know.

Did something interesting happen on the way?
