Chapter 5 by Fiftyfiftyfifty Fiftyfiftyfifty

The game continues.

Final question!

In the most dramatic manner possible, Mayheim draws a card from seemingly nowhere, and she looks as if she's moments away from placing it down to summon some sort of monster or cast a spell. But instead, she holds it up and reads it over before her eyes glance up at the crowd starting to mass. That really makes her giddy. Chaos like this is what gives her life meaning. She loves it. While seeding mischief, either from the shadows or the forefront, is fun as well, playing a big game like this is what truly causes her heart to flutter.

At this point, on top of the two guys and Mimi, there are six more men as well as five women. Some were together already and some weren't, but they've come together in an audience to watch Velatha bound and displayed like a sideshow attraction in front of them. They can't help it. Not only does it seem fascinating, and of course Lady Orilana is gorgeous, but there's also something alluring about the hatted bunny--drawing in people's sense of excitement like a true stage magician. Though she's far more than that.

Goldy raises her head again.

She gets up.

Everybody in-the-know gasps in shock, though to the benefit of the elf, Goldy moves rather slowly and lazily towards Mimi instead of running away. It tugs lightly on the string holding up the girl's top, yet not enough to slip the knot free. It undoes most of the loop, leaving it barely staying up, but then just as before, the dog lays down beside Mimi's feet where she now stands.

"For all the new people here, let me explain what's happening."

"N-No! Just ask the last question, please." After that last shock, she's getting truly ****, and now there are so many more people to watch.

"Well that wouldn't be fair. I'll be brief. But now that we've got quite the crowd, no intervening, guys! It's not fun if you intervene. The excitement comes from the unknown. Every second passing, wondering what'll happen. See, if Velatha here doesn't answer this final question before Mimi's dog wanders off... You can see where that string from her collar leads, right? I doubt I need to explain more. So let's get right to the final question, shall we?"

"Please, please," the elf begs. "I c-can feel it slipping off."

May peeks around to her back. "Oh you're right. Wow. It's riiight at its limits."

"S-So stop stalling!"

"Me? Stalling? I'd never do that."

"You're doing it now!"

In the crowd, a few horny beach-goers speak up with things like, "Show us those titties!" and "So hot!" as the two speak to one another.

"Yyoouu mmuusstt bbee mmiissttaakkeenn--"

"Ask the damned question!" Velatha snaps.

May just cackles. "All right, all right. Here we go. Last question." She clears her throat and faces the audience. "Velatha. What is... Fifty-eight multiplied by one hundred and thirty-two."

"You have to be joking!"

"I do like to joke, but that's the question. The good news is you have no real timer counting down, so take your time." Her eyes turn slowly to the dog. "Although, I guess that's still a sort of timer, isn't it? An hourglass, but the last bit of sand could fall at any moment, and you just don't know when. Also when the sand runs out, your titties come out too, if you forgot--"

"I did not forget!" Her breathing becomes rapid. Clearly, she's using every last brain cell she has to figure out the answer to the math question. Steam is practically coming out of her ears. She uses everything she can remember from school, and starts writing it out in her mind. Given enough time, such a question may not be too bad, though with all the stress weighing on her, it makes it far more difficult to focus.

Everybody's eyes stare closely.

Mimi can't help but watch the fabric of the elf's bikini top and imagine what'll happen if pulled away. Perhaps it's only the intense summer heat making her sweat, especially with her ice cream long since absorbed into the sand--the one thing besides the water to cool her down. Though that may not be the only reason.

"Seven... and uhm..." the elf mutters as she thinks as hard as she can.

Just then, a dwarf in polka dot trunks comes walking towards the group. A big bushy black beard covers most of his face, and behind him is a massive keg he's somehow able to easily carry, despite it sloshing around with something liquid inside. In his arms is a wide metal plate covered in small sandwiches, and all around his sides and belt are mugs. The man is a walking tavern. "Food and drinks! Food and drinks!" he announces, but his eyes catch the strange crowd grouped up near the shore. "Oi! Any of ya need some food or drinks?"

Goldy's head rises up.

"No! No, no, no! Go away! We don't need food!" Velatha shouts in panic, completely losing her place in the math equation within her mind.

But it's too late. Even a lazy dog can get excited. Goldy stands, and with a panting tongue hanging from her mouth, she bolts off in that direction at a speed others didn't know was possible from such a lazy dog. Mimi gasps as her dog takes off. The string tied to Goldy's collar goes along with her.

Game over.
