Fight the King.

"Use range!" you shout. With one arm, you help aim the tip of your weapon up at the creature's face. As you say, "Flare Bolt," the metal of your glowing sword illuminates with a different light as the scorching heat builds, and then unleashes as a bullet of flames. The projectile hurls through the air, and against such a large target, it's not difficult to hit. The spell explodes on his face.

A few arrows fly from behind, through they barely penetrate the Crab King's flesh. Eva throws a Magic Bolt right where your spell landed, and although it reacts, it doesn't look like it's going to drop that easily.

It swings up its massive claw, but to your horror, it falls down from the heavens like a meteorite towards Amara. She looks up, helpless and afraid, and tries to run but to no avail. The ground is sopping wet, and she isn't an agile fighter. There's little she can do against the oncoming attack. However, Niki leaps in from nowhere, holds up her shield, and you're then blinded by the explosive impact.

"Niki, Amara!" you call out.

As the water clears, you look in awe at Niki with one hand at Amara's side, and the other gripping her shield. The Crab King's claw has pushed said shield tight against the warrior's body, but somehow she has managed to hold back his attack and keep the elf beneath her safe at the same time. She clenches her teeth, and stares right back up at the giant crab. No matter how hard he pushes, it doesn't crush them.

"Don't you... dare," she growls. "You won't... get her!"

An explosion on the side of the Crab King's head causes it to stumble to the side and free the pair from its ****. Alice stands behind you, weapon aimed forwards, and she looks to you with a nod.

"Like that, correct?" she asks.

"Perfect. Thanks, Alice," you reply. "Unload everything you have, guys! It's just a crab!"

It snarls in pain, and you look up to see Snow perched on top of its head. Her bow is over her back, and she instead has her short blade clenched between both hands and she's successfully stabbed right down into its flesh. "Make him fall over!"

"Way ahead of you!" Niki has sheathed both of her armaments and has instead chosen to wield a pair of crab legs instead. She grabs two, and with her supernatural strength, she pulls upwards and out towards herself, and it's actually working.

I still remember when I only had the mana for one spell a day. I've used two, and I think I still have enough for a couple more. Well, there's no time like the present!

Just like before, you ignite your weapon aflame with a, "Flare Blade!" You then hurry around to the other side, and slice through the hardy flesh of its legs.

Eva fires at creature on Niki's side with a Magic Bolt, and Alice blasts a hole right through its carapace on that side as well.

Finally, Amara aims upwards and takes a deep breath. Already, you can see colour filling her face--the anticipation. She knows how many spells she's been casting, and it's starting to become a frustrating problem. She's burning up, and if she casts another large spell, she's really going to hit the edge, or perhaps blast right through. That hasn't stopped her before, however. Though she's nervous, her heart races, and she casts her spell with excitement. "Gale!"

It was the final push needed. The Crab King topples right over, and crashes into mud right on its side. You tumble out of the way before being crushed, and join your companions aiming at its exposed underbelly. Slashes. Spells. You all unload, and the creature is helpless against your ****.

With one final stab of your sword before it goes out, you watch the twitching legs around you slowly fall limp.

The air falls silent. It's over.

You begin stepping back with a deep breath--adrenaline still pumping. You slide your sword into its scabbard, and as you do, you feel a warm embrace around your arm. You turn to see Amara--hot and heavy--staring up at you with pleading eyes. She reaches up to touch your cheek, where she shows you a trickle of blood. You seem to have been cut at some point.

"L-Let me... Let me heal..." Amara pants.

"It's barely anything. You're going to--" you start to say, but she opens her mouth and begins casting her spell.

"Minor..."

"Amara, you really don't have to do this."

"Minor Heal~!" As she closes your wound, she squeezes her arms around your body tight. Her lips linger right in front of your ear, and although everyone else around you is oblivious, you hear all of her noises. You look over to Alice as her arm-cannon retracts. "You all did a good job. Somehow we made it through an entire fight without someone ending up naked," you say.
