The Blob bounds toward you and you sidestep its warbling mass, causing it to get caught on a jagged root. You seize the opportunity before it wriggles free to give it the full fury of your sword and shield. The membrane bursts open, spilling a pond's worth of globby green goop as thick as honey.

This substance is valuable in the city, as it can be processed into all manner of useful things including glue, lamp oil, lubricant and can even be eaten. You scoop up as much as you can carry of the cleanest stuff while the broken monster's bouncing organ twitches in defeat. You manage to sell the goo for a decent amount of pocket change.
