Escape

"I'm sorry Edith, but I've got to go."

She knew where her priorities lie, to survive for as long as possible and to get a report to HQ. Taking out Edith now could both jeopardize the mission and her escape, especially with god knows how many and how far the slugs have travelled. But deep inside her, she knew the more important reason. Edith was her friend. They had lunch together. They have movies together with the other girls. Alice couldn't bear the thought of killing her, even knowing what a sick monstrosity she became.

Closing the toilet door behind her, Alice took a deep breath, weighing through her options. Whilst escape was definitely a tempting option, her equipment and laptop were still back in class, both tools that were definitely helpful for sending out an early warning and to protect herself. The faster she sent that report out, the better the quarantine squads could assess and take out the threat. But with how long Edith had been in there and how many slugs were loose, the whole place could turn into a living orgy if she wasn't careful.
