Entering the Adventurer's Guild

You pull open the guild hall doors as you are greeted by a blast of warmth from the hearth. You enter as the calming smell of pine tickles your senses. The warmth of the guild hall is a refreshing change from the early autumn cold from outside. Stepping inside you see many tables of adventurers sitting around chatting. There are all sorts of adventurers from different walks of life here. Scanning the room, you see many bronze class adventurers as well as a few silvers sprinkled throughout. You recognize mages, clerics, knights, rogues and all sorts of talent based on the gear they carry.

“Excuse me” a polite voice says from somewhere in front of you. Turning to the counter you notice a small androgynous looking elf behind the counter. The elf’s piercing blue eyes and shoulder length silver hair tell you that this is likely a high elf, unlike the elf outside. You recall hearing that high elves occur when a normal elf is born with bright blue eyes. According to elven legend, high elves are destined for great things.

“Uh hello there lass err- lad?” you say sheepishly.

“Yeah you got it! My name is Gilly” he says chipperly. “Are you looking to become an adventurer? I noticed you didn’t have a badge.”

“Yea yer correct on that, how can I go bout’ gettin’ one of those badges?”

“Its quite simple actually! Just write your name here and we can sign you on as a bronze class.” Gilly says while pushing forward a parchment and quill. You sign the parchment not really seeing anything wrong with the terms and conditions. Gilly takes the parchment from you and smiles up at you. “Just remember, the Adventurer’s Guild is not responsible for any harm or ill fates that befall upon you as a result of taking a contract. Beeeee careful out there” he says giving you a casual salute.

“Ah aye of course. Ya got any contracts for an adventurer of my class?” You say hopefully. Gilly gives you a sympathetic expression.

“Sooooorry, all those contracts have been picked clean for the day. Though a group of bronze class adventurers grabbed a contract that requires a group. I think they were actually looking for a warrior such as yourself, if you’d like to give them a try.” Gilly gestures to a table of adventurers of mixed races and classes.

“Right, guess I’ll try them. Thanks Gilly.” Gilly looks up at you with a joyful smile. He seems to be leaning forward as if expecting something from you.
