The high heels sounded loud has Charlotte hurried walked down the empty hallway to the principal’s office. They had called her half an hour ago to tell her that Chloe and her friends had been in a fight and were in detention. Chloe wasn't answering her phone and neither were Zack or Gavin. She knew Roy was in court right now so she had texted him a message to call her latter. Charlotte had also tried to call both Monica and Diane but the hospital told her the they were both working with a complicated birth procedure and could not answer the phone but they would pass on the message. The only one she could raise was Taylor and she had said that the principal, Mr. Wessterhof, wouldn't let her talk to the kids. She was terrified of what might have happened to them. All she knew was that her cubs were all alone and they needed her.

Bursting into the school administrative office Charlotte saw the kids sitting alone in a corner. Chloe ran up to hug her and started crying. Charlotte hugged her back. "It's all right, it's all right." she whispered to Chloe while she stroked her hair. Looking over she saw that both Gavin and Zack had some bruises on their faces and she pulled them both in to hug all three of the kids. "It's going to be all right. We'll go home now." she whispered to them while she kissed their forehead. "Tell me what happened."

Mr. Wessterhof poked his head out of the office "Ahh Mrs. McRose finally. Please come into the office."

"Just a minute Mr. Wessterhof." Charlotte smiled with the sweet voice she used when making a sales pitch. "I want to hear their story and make sure my... kids are ok."

"The kids are fine," he said, with a tinge of annoyance "It's just a few bruises and it's all in the report here." gesturing with the folder in his hand.

"And I'm sure the report will be complete once I amend it with the truth." Charlotte said with a smile that bordered on being predatory. She never did like Mr. Wessterhof, and her instincts almost never failed her. "If you will excuse me, I will talk privately with the children."

Once he was back in the office Charlotte had the kids retell the story from start to finished. "... and when they pulled him off me, he ripped my shirt" Chloe said, her face red with embarrassment. "and then the brought us to detention." Zack added quickly.

"So that's why you're wearing Gavin's jacket" Charlotte said. "Thanks sweetie" she said to Gavin has she placed a kiss on his check making him blush.

"I'm really proud of you, all three of you." she said has she pulled them in to a big hug. "No matter what anyone else says. You did the right thing. You defended yourselves, together, that's what a pack does. Don't ever forget it. The Pack always stays together."

"Now, wait for me, I'll see what Mr. Wessterhof wants and then we can all go home." She gave them another hug and kissed their foreheads again before asking the secretary for a copy of the report and to pull Holly from class.

Entering his office Mr. Wessterhof said "Please close the door."

"I'm sorry but I never have close door meetings alone with someone." Charlotte said. "I'm sure you understand."

"Yes... I quite understand." he said. and proceeded to review the report with her.

"So, has you can see, this sexual misconduct from Gavin and the quite violent actions from Chloe are very alarming, she almost broke that poor boys ribs. I don't know if the school board will maintain the scholarship for them, we have very low tolerance for this type of behavior."

"The only sexual misconduct I see is my daughter's shirt being ripped open. I don't think the school board wants the lawsuit and bad publicity from expelling a student after she was assaulted this way and the fact that you have kept them incommunicated." Charlotte said her pleasant smile long gone. "My husband is a lawyer Mr. Wessterhof. He will review this report and he will make a final decision."

Standing up Charlotte scooped up the three cell phone on his desk. "I will take my daughter's phone back and return the others Mr. Wessterhof.... I care not about jealous fantasy of a brother attacking a boy for talking with his sister. I truly hope you and the school board take a fair and balanced look at this considering that it was my cubs that were wrongfully attacked, they only defended themselves. Goodbye."

Charlotte gathered the three kids and Holly and left the school. Walking to her car she again tried and failed to raise Diane and Monica. She sent them a text message telling them she was taking the kids home.

They piled into the car and drove home, all the way Holly sat in the backseat between the boys and continued to pester them about the fight.

"You really took him down! WOW!!" she said in awe as they repeated the scene of Gavin holding Brandon's arm back while Zack punched him and the later takedown. "That was Fucking Fantastic!!"

"Language young lady" Charlotte chided her while still amused at her youngest.
