Enjoy the water

Amber and Nora decided to head out into the ocean, wanting to go ahead and swim awhile. Molly said she’d join them later, and continued relaxing under the umbrella. So Nora and Amber grabbed their goggles and marched towards the surf.

It had been years since Nora last went to the beach. As she stepped into the water her body shivered as it tried to get used to the cold. Goosebumps appeared along her skin. The smaller ocean waves splashed against her as she walked, with Amber running just ahead. Finally when Nora was about waist deep, she decided to get it over with in one go. She plunged herself under the water, and looked around her. It wasn’t particularly bright outside, but Nora still found herself mystified by the view under the waves. When she finally came up, the smell of salt filling her nose, Amber was staring at her.

“See? I told you this would be fun.” Amber called back to her, having already swam a few meters ahead. “And as long as we’re far enough out, nobody will even see your swimsuit.”

“Alright, I admit it.” Nora said, “I’m enjoying myself.”

At this point they were far enough that Nora could only touch the bottom if she stretched all the way down, with only her face sticking up above. This of course meant Amber was treading water, since she was significantly shorter than Nora.

The two continued to just float around for a while, occasionally splashing each other. Every once and a while they would wave back to Molly, who would only notice them some of the time.
