Engineering - You're the ship's chief engineer

You proudly wear your green colored uniform to signify that not only are you a part of the Massachusetts's engineering division, but the ship's chief engineer. In your days at the academy, you studied each component of the warp core so closely, that draw up your own copy of an Alphafleet warp core from memory and even fill in the classified information that cadets weren't supposed to know. It was an ability that got you in trouble and ended up being interrogated by some very high security government officials. The only thing that got you off the hook was that your design was more efficient than what Alphafleet had in the works. After that, you made sure to check with professors before stumbling upon top secret information again.

As you approached shuttle craft 14142, you spotted a civilian waiting to board the craft along with several other engineers. As you got closer you feel like you've seen her before, but you can't quite put your finger on where though.

She was incredibly well dressed for a civilian. Even for a society that has done away with poverty and social class, this woman clearly wanted to pretend to better than everyone else. Her hair was done up and styled fancy too. It wasn't too hard to separate yourself from a military crowd, but she was clearly trying extremely hard.

"Excuse me, ma'am," you start off with, "I hope you don't mind me asking, but who are you?"

She turned and looked at you with a look of disgust. Almost like she was yelling 'How dare you?' with a single look. Several of the engineers even looked like you were poking a wasps nest with a stick.

"I am Dr. Lo." she said.

Your eyes go wide as you finally are able to recall who she is. Dr. Lo designed the Massachusetts from the ground up. You became starstruck. You were less than two feet away from one of your engineering idols. You studied all of her published works and it was her design that you improved upon by complete accident.

"Um... Pleased to meet you, sir. I... I mean. Ma'am... Doctor." You manage to stutter.

"I can only hope your chief engineer is just as eloquent as you are. He better have a good excuse for ruining my design."

A couple of the engineers snort and try to stifle their laughter. Dr. Lo doesn't seem to notice them.
