Chapter 3 by quad2 quad2

Shall we get to know a Dullahan Fencing contestant?

Elise Lee, Human Swordsman Prodigy

Elise Lee was a skilled human swordsman in her own right. Daughter of a famous fencer and a kendo master, she learned many forms of sword combat with the goal of being a professional at the field. However, she also wanted to have some interesting competition in the process. She heard of this contest from a friend who wanted to refer her to this place. The idea involving limb detachment and nonlethal combat with risks intrigued the prodigy.

"Finally, something interesting besides what I'm doing my entire life," Elise said.

She tied up her dark hair in a bun with loose side bangs to at least look cool when fighting. She wore a light sports outfit fit for fencing or kendo as she held onto the special blade needed for this competition. She was so excited for the moment as she then closed her locker and went out of the locker room.

She was a bit early to the competition as she was just that excited. However at the arena, she spotted a bunch of limbs scattered around the field. Strange creatures are setting up the arena for the competition such as elves or orcs. This made the prodigy's heart fluttered from the uniqueness of the place.

"So interesting," Elise said.

"Hey human! Out of the way!" said a dark elf.

"Oh, sorry," Elise said as she did so.

"Now I wonder who will I face today," Elise said.

Suddenly, there was some squishy sound coming close to her. The human looked back and saw what appeared to be a green slime girl who was naked and held onto her sword. The private parts are not really shown at least to make things less weird.

"So you're the arrogant human," the slime said.

"Yep! I am confidant in my skills and hope today will be a proper test of it," Elise said.

"Oh no... me scared," the slime girl said.

"Are you being sarcastic?" Elise asked.

"No! Me actually scared that you be strong or stupid," the slime girl said.

"I hope I am the former," Elise said.

There were more contestants coming in as time went by and they each were unique in their own way either their race or shape. Some were ghosts, some were ogres, some were elves, some were animals, and some were even chairs. Though the only thing they have in common was that they always ask about her being human. Despite not feeling like she belongs there, Elise did not faltered.

When the competition began, all Elise did was wait and observed the matches. She noticed how some fighters had no training but held on their own. Others were trained with successful matches due to their experience or major losses for their static tactics. Elise kept an eye on how they all fought so that she could counter them if she were to get in a match against them. When it was Elise's turn, the girl was excited for what's to come and wonder who she would be fighting.

Who does Elise end up fighting?
