Chapter 2 by Mapron01 Mapron01

Who gets the letter/power?

Eddie, a outcast nerd

Eddie was grateful it was weekend. At school he was out casted and bullied by most of the student body. However, he was annoyed when his mom made him stop his game to check the mail. Grumbling, he made his way outside. In the mailbox he found a bunch of bills, a few promos and white envelope. Going back inside, he left the other letters in the kitchen table, but was interested in the white envelope. It had no apparent address, nor did it say who it was for. He decided to open it to take a look. He was surprised at the extremely fancy handwriting he found inside, and decided to read its contents.

'How to Use Your New Vocabulary'

Using the word may while asking for permission for whatever is desired will always result in being granted that permission, even when not outright verbally stated by the permitter, as long as the permitter hears and/or knows you are asking something.

However, using "can't" afterward, in reference to whatever was permitted, will cancel the affirmation, and return all affected people and things to their previous understanding/state. Using "may not" will have no effect. On the other hand, using "can" or any other term while asking for permission will be treated normally and without the beneficial effects of the 'may' trigger.

When using the trigger, there is a blanket effect that carries down from anyone with some kind of authority over others -- for instance, if asking the manager of a business if one "may" bed all the female employees, and the manager agrees, this will make all other employees and subordinates accept any actions related to the request as reasonable, even when they were not present during the request or not directly told after it, as long as they consider themselves in service to the one who gave permission.

If you acknowledge this geas, sign your name in order to be given its power. (Only the one signing can receive the geas.) Once signed, return the letter to a cover and seal it, then leave it in a safe container, where no one will open it, for one hour -- if this fails, an anti-geas will befall you, and everything you ask will instead be denied, and all that 'may-be' will only work against you, until you repeat the ritual. Much love, nobody.

Eddie understood what the letter said perfectly, but was unbelieving of what it said, believing it to be a prank from one of his neighbors. He looked around the card to see if he could find any trace of who did it, and found one last part on the back.

Using the word maybe in reference to the state of something or someone will take the effect of making the following statement true. Only valid once a day. Using it to give the user instantaneous or global power, hence rendering the triggers useless, will result in negation.

Finding no clues to who wrote the letter, but he's still convince it's a prank and nothing more.

"Might as well sign it. I know it's a prank, so when they jump out to laugh at me I can laugh at them instead", Eddie reasons with himself before getting a pen and putting his signature in the correct location .He then out the letter inside a box that was laying around and put it where his mother won't find it. After an hour, Eddie feel no change and is sure its some joke, but decides to go find someone to try it out on.

Looking outside, Eddie sees his neighbor and classmate, blonde Julia Stevens, walking down the road, and decides to try it on her, as she's always bothered him. And he likes her large breasts. Walking over to her, Eddie wonders what to ask of her. When he reaches her she looks at him with annoyance.

"Ugh, what do you want?", she asks, clearly annoyed by his presence. Going over what he read, Eddie reaches a decision.

"Hello, Julia. May I grope your breasts?", he asked, using the vocabulary the letter said to use.

"Sure. Is that all?", she asks, an annoyed look still on her face. Eddie does a double take before moving his hands forward and groping her large breasts. As he feels her up, he wonders if she is in on the joke, but realizes the Julia he has come to know over so many years would never accept such a demeaning offer, especially from him. As he realizes the card was real, a smile comes into his face as he wonders what to do next. He could make Julia pay for all those years, or do it to others in the school. And so much more.

What does Eddie do?
