Chapter 6 by moonblack moonblack

How do you fight the elf?

Drink a Potion of Haste and attack him

Now seems like a good time to give the Haste potions a try... You think as you take one out and quickly drink it. The lime-colored liquid both smells and tastes like an apple, and as soon as you have swallowed all of it an unfamiliar energy passes through your body.

"I don't know what you just drank, but it won't help you." The Elf says as he sees you drink the potion. By now he has almost reached you and you grip your sword with both hands as you prepare to face him. "It would be a pity to hurt such a pretty girl. Why don't you put away that pathetic excuse for a sword and just let me fuck you?" He smirks, apparently feeling pretty confident in his upcoming victory. Naturally, you have other ideas.

"Go fuck yourself!" You reply as you wait for him to make the first move. You don't have to wait long.

"I'd rather fuck you." The elf says and slashes at you with one of his swords. The attack is probably quite fast, but right now, thanks to the potion's effect, it seems very slow and you dodge it with barely any effort.

"Huh?" Your opponent seems very surprised that his attack missed while you just stand there and look at him, a triumphant smirk on your face. "Well, aren't you lucky." He says before he attacks again, this time with both swords. You dodge one and parry the other with your own weapon, then kick him in the gut. "Ugh!" The elf grimaces. Then he grips his swords tightly and attacks again. And again. And again. And again. Every time you easily dodge or parry his swings and slashes, and every time he gets more and more frustrated. Soon he is wildly swinging both of his short swords, desperately trying - and failing - to land at least one hit. Thanks to your increased speed all of his attacks seem very slow and you are able to dodge or parry them all without much effort.

This is fun, but if I take too long the potion's effect will wear off and I will be in serious trouble. You think as you dodge another wild swing. This time you finally attack him, quickly getting behind him and slashing at his back. His leather armor protects him, but gets damaged from the blow and a small hole appears in it.

"You bitch!" The elf hisses as he turns around and attacks you again.

"Hey, it's not my fault you suck so much, or that you are wearing crappy armor." You answer as you nonchalantly dodge and counterattack. This time he barely manages to parry your strike with his swords.

For the next few minutes you keep taunting the elf as you dodge all of his attacks and slash at him after each one. Thanks to his skill and elven reflexes he manages to block a few of them, but most manage to hit him. Soon there are several holes in his leather armor and it no longer offers any real protection from your attacks.

"That hurt!" The blonde elf hisses as you wound him for the first time. It's just a shallow cut in the middle of his back and won't hinder him in the slightest, but it pisses him off even more. "You bitch! Soon you'll be begging me to fuck you!" He shouts as he faces you and attacks you one more time.

"I bet you say that to all the girls." You reply as you take a step back, avoiding the attack. You feel the wall behind your back.

"Idiot! Now I've got you!" He declares triumphantly, apparently believing that now you won't be able to dodge. You promtly prove him wrong as you move to his left, narrowly avoiding the attack. The elf's short swords strike the solid wall instead of your body... and both break.

"What...? How...?" The elf stands there, perplexed by this development and staring at his broken weapons. You do not give him a chance to recover as you move behind him and stab him in the back through a hole in his armor. "Gah!" He stares at the sword blade now sticking out of his chest, apparently unable to believe that this is really happening. You pull out and then stab him a few more times, to make sure he is really dead, then finally you let his body fall down.

"Well, that was easy." You say to yourself as you stand there, panting, for the first time noticing how exhausted you feel. Shortly after that the strange enrgy leaves your body, returning your speed to normal - apparently the potion's effect has finally worn off.

After you catch your breath and make sure there are no other enemies nearby - at least none that you can see - you begin searching the dead elf's body. His swords are broken and useless. Thanks to your attacks his armor is badly damaged and practically useless, as are his clothes. The only things of value you find are a single healing potion, thankfully undamaged, and 100 gold coins.

Well, it's not much, but it's a start... I just wish I knew if the money are real or part of the illusion. You think as you put the money back in the leather pouch.

Once you have fully searched the dead elf's body you turn your attention to getting out of the room. You begin by examining the pool in the center. For the first time you take a longer look at it and realize that it is much deeper than you thought – so deep, in fact, that you can't even see the bottom because the light does not reach that far. As you watch the water's surface you think you see a woman's face for a moment, but as soon as you blink it is gone and you are not sure if you really saw it.

The sound of heavy footsteps interrupts your examination of the deep pool. You look in the direction the footsteps are coming from and see that the wooden door through which you entered the room is open again. On the other side of the door, in the room where you fought the skeleton, is a large green-skinned ogre holding a heavy wooden club. He is looking directly at you, but does not try to enter the room.

Since you are in no immediate danger you take another look around the room. You discover that five new doors have appeared in the walls. One is made of wood, one is made of stone, another one is made of some metal, possibly iron or steel, the next one is made of ice, and the last one seems to be made of bone. You realize that if you want to leave the room you can go to the room with the ogre or you can try one of the new doors. You can also risk swimming in the pool, even though something might be living there, such as a water elemental or a water demon.

Which way do you go?
