Chapter 7 by loahnuh loahnuh

Drama, Detention or Ditching?

Drama

The halls are deserted and you have the sneaking suspicion that you and Rachel are late for class. In spite of that though neither one of you seems keen on speeding up.

Thoughts whirl through your head regarding the scene you and Rachel made in the bathroom and then of your tryst with Sarah in the broom closet and back again.

Despite the slow pace and late hour, you find yourself entering the theater class all too soon, interrupting the two students presenting a scene.

"Do you two know what time it is?" you hear Ms. Anderson ask sternly from her seat in the corner. "We are presenting the acts you have been practicing and you two have just volunteered to be next."

You sit down next to Rachel and consider the scene you have to present, happy to have anything to distract you from your moral dilemma concerning the two beautiful females who have interjected themselves in your life. You are presenting the gentleman caller scene from the Glass Menagerie and the scene involves a kiss, you remember with a twinge of nerves, before Rachel barely pecked your lips, but after what happened between you two you have no idea what she might do.

The other students finish their scene and sit down as you and Rachel walk onto the small stage. To your endless surprise, you assume the character of the caller without a problem and Rachel is the perfect Laura, you remember all your lines and then for the big finish you lean in and kiss Rachel who responds by gently pulling you into a romantic embrace before breaking off the kiss and finishing the scene.

The class responds with enthusiastic applause and the look on Ms. Anderson's face suggests that she has forgotten all about your lateness. You and Rachel take seats among your flabbergasted classmates and the rest of the presenters take their turns leaving you to mull over the new sensation of that kiss. Was it just the play or was it real? Did Rachel mean everything that the kiss suggested or was it a fabrication of your confused ego? You snap out of your reverie only when the bell rings sounding the end of class.

History or Hooky?
