Don the amulet

You raise the chain over your head and drape the amulet around your neck, the amulet glow and dims back to its original state. 'That's strange.' you say to yourself then look around for any changes, you don't notice anything. Then you hear voices from the snail girls, the frozen ones.

They say, "Please free us." You take the amulet and look at it. Thinking 'Does this thing make me read minds.' You move closer to the snail girls, and one of them says "Please tap me with the amulet." You ask "why?" She responds "It will unfreeze me." You ask her "How can I trust you? you attacked me." She explains that she and her sisters are under a curse and prophecy states a stranger will come to free them and they were trying to stop you from leaving because you were not responding to their cries for help. You say "I never heard any of you say anything. And what does the prophecy say? What is this curse?" She elborates that they were all humans at one point before the curse, and a warlock turned them into this form because they didn't paying tribute to him. And the prophecy states a stranger can free them through an act of deep caring.
You ponder if you should unfreeze them?
