Don't take the stone out of the box

John is a smart guy with an IQ over 145 not really a world class genius but still a really smart person. If the box seals the stone's curse then don't take it out. That's the answer he came up with. But he also wants to use it.

He thought up of many different ways to take the box with him around and holding the stone while it was inside the box but his hands were big and he didn't know wether the effects of the box would work even if it was open.

The only way the stone's curse is definitely sealed is if it is inside the box. He came up with a method he didn't know if it would work, it was using his blood. He was afraid to cut his palm but with a conviction he never had in his life he cut his palm and bleed on the stone and turned it around so it was fully covered in blood and closed the box.
