How Do Things Go From Here?
Discussing What Comes Next and a Fight
“So,” said Rilkimsha, “what’s your plan now?” The party was back on the road, ironically headed toward the town the drake-kin had just come from. They had been on the road for maybe fifteen minutes.
“First,” said Keldan, “we’re going to need a cart and a reliable means of pulling it; I think I might have a short-term solution for that, but we’ll likely still need a draft horse or the like. But as things stand, we have a rather small pool of resources.”
“What if we head for the town with an Enchantress in a tower,” inquired Devallia, “you said there’s a rogue that could probably help us out, and chances are she’ll have a cache or two of resources we can probably use.”
“Aside from the fact that reaching that town will take us a few days,” said Keldan, “likely the better part of a week, I can understand what you’re getting at.”
“The priestess and sailor,” inquired Helen, “how long to where you last heard they were?”
“Maybe around the same distance as the enchantress and thief,” said Keldan, “in a completely different direction from those two.”
“The druid and the monk,” inquired Devallia.
“Not in the same general area, last I checked,” said Keldan, “and in almost opposing directions.”
“Sounds like you’ve been putting together quite the list,” said Rilkimsha, “I have a little healing at my disposal, but I think heading for a cleric or druid to join your party is a good option. I also have limited funds myself; they are barely enough to cover my necessary expenses half the time.”
“Same here,” said Keldan.
“I’m pretty self-sufficient,” said Helen, “my expenses usually end up going towards weapon maintenance, but I, too, am rather low regarding finances.”
“And I spent most of my days locked up in a mansion,” said Devallia, “I barely know the necessary expenses everyone else has to deal with due to attempts to keep me as cut off from the outside world as possible until recently. But yes, a cart probably would be a decent investment; we could haul more items, and it could act as an impromptu sleeping area for some of us.”
A few minutes later, the group encountered a group of 4 giant boars blocking their route about thirty feet ahead of them. “Well,” said Helen, “do we deal with the pigs? Or do you want to try finding a way around them? I’m fine with either approach.”
“Well,” said Keldan, “we do have limited supplies, and there is all that pork right there.” It was at this point Keldan was thankful he decided to put on his armor in case of the off chance of dealing with brigands, highwaymen, and thieves. “Looks like there’s one for each of us to deal with; it shouldn’t be too problematic.”
“Um,” said Devallia, “I don’t really have any combat experience.”
“Then you’re in luck,” said Helen, “monsters like this are pretty close to being a beginner-level threat, so you should be mostly fine.”
“And even if you do have some issues,” said Rilkmisha, “the rest of us will have probably dealt with our targets so thoroughly we’ll be able to help you in next to no time.
The four of them got ready for a fight, and since the boars hadn’t noticed them yet, they were able to get the jump on them. Rilkimsha caught one in the sudden blaze of a bonfire that she summoned up in the same space as it; Devallia got a little excited and rushed forward about sixteen feet and summoned a lash of lighting that pulled one of the boars towards her while shocking and this surprise made it so the boar wasn’t able to dig its hooves into the ground properly; Helen flew into a rage and manifested a set of fangs like those of a lion before charging forward and goring one of the boars with her horns before biting into it with her fangs. Keldan rushed forward with his war hammer and slammed the boar he had chosen as a target before manifesting a second war hammer of pure energy that also crashed into the boar. Two of the boars looked pretty bloody and beat up; one or two more good hits would likely drop them.
The boars all tried to rush the group. The boars that charged Rilkimsha and Devallia rushed forward but missed the two by at least a yard and stopped a good ten feet from the two on the opposing side of where they were prior. The one that charged Keldan hit but did negligible damage, it did manage to shove him back teen feet due to their close proximity, and Keldan managed to keep himself standing. Helen also took negligibly damage, despite the boar managing to score a critical hit to her gut.
Rilkimsha blasted the boar before her with the concussive energy of her breath, along with some kind of mystical **** that shoved it back ten feet from her. After turning towards the boar that tried to charge her, Devallia sent out another electric lash that pulled the boar towards her, after which she reached out and grabbed the boar and sent an electrical shock through the animal, dropping it to the ground. Helen Took her maul off her back; the massive wooden-headed hammer crashed down on the boar before her; then she took another bite into the boar, and the animal fell to the ground all bloody and dead. Keldan swung at the boar with his war hammer again, just barely managing to strike at the animal due to the awkward angle he found himself swinging, the hammer made of mystic energies struck a bit more effectively, and with it, the boar fell to the ground dead. Only one more of the creatures remained.
The sole remaining boar tried to charge Devallia instead of Rilkimsha, probably thinking her to be a better option; the damage to the demon-kin sorceress was a bit more noticeable than the damage Keldan and Helen had taken; however, she was able to react with a blast of thunder that pushed the pig back while also shocking it. Rilkimsha said, “Don’t worry, you’ll be alright,” and Devallia felt herself healed by the words. Devallia shot out another lash of lightning at the boar, pulling it towards her with a slight sound of thunder, and the creature fell to the ground, dead mere inches from Devallia’s feet.
“Well,” said Keldan, “that took a bit longer than anticipated.”
“I’ll see to getting to skinning and dismantling the creatures,” said Helen as she put her hammer away and pulled out one of her handaxes, “does anyone have a spare dagger or shortsword I could use in the process?”
Devallia handed Helen one of her daggers, “Here you go; I hope it goes well.”
“That could take some time,” said Rilkimsha, “I picked up a spell that can probably help us out with resting; it’ll take some time to set up.” She reached into her bag and pulled out what looked like a green crystal bead with an indigo dragon figurine within and started pacing in a circle about twenty feet from the side of the road that, about twelve feet all around, chanting some obscure song in the language of dragons while making arcane gestures. After around ten minutes, a spherical structure of pure magic around ten feet appeared around her. Keldan and Devallia entered the sphere to join the dragon-kin woman.
While all that was going on, Helen was busy skinning and dismantling the boars, one of the boars a bit more difficult than the others, but it wasn’t all that much of an issue. After skinning the boars, Helen took the hides and placed them inside out as a mat for each material; she piled them on top of the skins and closed them up like impromptu sacks to bring over next to the magical hut. Helen headed over to a place seven feet to the side of the magical hut and started setting up for the making of a fire pit, tossing the entrails of the boars out into the wilderness off to the side of the road.

“I haven’t used magic so much in short succession,” said Devallia, “I think using so much of my magic in such a short time made me a little horny.”
“Well,” said Rilkimsha, “I’m game for some sexual fun too, and we can help educate the two of you on proper sexual etiquette,” she gave the two a sensual wink. “First thing’s first, I’m going need to see what we’re working with; take off your attire.”
“Well,” said Keldan, “if we’re getting naked, then so are you.”
“I welcome the invitation,” said Rilkimsha.
