Dis, the Infinite City of Hell

The moment the car hit the incoming truck, Kirsty closed her eyes as her heart-beat with the impact. The next beat, all inertia ceased as Kirsty opened her eyes. Almost in the blink of her eyes, everything was wildly different.

She was no longer in the car. She was no longer on the highway. She was not even sure if she was even on Earth anymore.

She was on a cliff. There was no sky, as peaking the upper-half of the horizon line stretching above her looked like the massive roof of a cavern, with massive stalactites pointing to the ground like massive upper-jaws. Without a sun, all light was artificial, torches, bonfires and various other flames illuminating a vast, stone city. The rock was blackened by soot from the fire, so whatever details or discernible cultural origins she may have gotten from the buildings were lost on the girl.
