Deeper into the forest

She was able to recover her sniper rifle from the wreckage. The scope had a few small scratches and there was a dent on the side but it should be in working condition. The rifle itself had a cartridge of 16 rounds and she wasn't able to recover any extra ammo packs so she would have to use the weapon conservatively. Using some ointments. patches and a shot of adrenaline from the first aid kit, Olivia was now sprinting through the forest, following alongside the dirt road hoping to see some sign of civilization. She ran for hours stopping occasionally to rest, drink from her canteen or to have a bite of her chocolate ration bar. Her diligence pair off as she came across an interesting sight.

There were tracks in the dirt road, crossing from one side of the forest to the next. The tracks came from a large group of bi pedal creatures moving closely together. The prints were rather large much larger than even the largest human but still not those of a beast. Given the data they had on the high elves she couldn't imagine the wood elves would be this large as the split seemed cultural and their should be no biological difference. The tracks appeared fresh and if she were to follow them into the forest she may be able to catch up to this group. If they were friendlies they may be able to help her and if they were enemies well then she may be able to pick them off from afar and then steal their supplies.
