Deal with your monkeys

The situation was dire, but mindlessly charging in would be simply stupid.
The worse the situation got the more he had to calm down and come up with a plan to properly deal with this, least he does something stupid and there's no room to regret later.

Fira should be able to deal with her own monkeys whereas the girl needed immediate help... but there were still another four babooches in between, so ignoring them would mean they'd gang up on him from behind while he helps the other. As a result, he'd most likely go down and the girls would get no help at all. Would that be a good result? Obviously not. Therefore, he needed to first deal with those four monkeys, and that he did.

First he held up his shield and charged in, acting like he'd bash the closest babooch... but that was actually only a feint, as while his targets retreated he smashed his mace against the monkey leaping from the side.
His attack power wasn't something to boast of, but it was still more than enough to break his skull and decrease the enemies to three.

The attack enraged the other babooches, which then proceeded to leap towards Ryu and engage in an intense scuffle...
