Day Three

Emma squinted, angry at the sun. Sunlight filled the room, seeming to personally seek out Emma and blind her, and increase her headache. Eyes closed, she dragged herself from bed.

Emma stumbled into the hallway, to the bathroom, not remembering that she was clad only in one of Jake's long t-shirts, and then not caring. Emma sat on the toilet, had her morning pee, then caught sight of herself in the mirror. She looked like she had a fun night.

Emma, only half awake, undressed and hopped in the shower. She sought the comfort of the warm water and a clean body. Once done, feeling human again, she put on a towel and headed to Jake's room.

After slipping on some plain panties and bra she she decided to dress for comfort. Guided by the remains of her hangover, Emma slipped on some hip hugging jeans and a t-shirt.

Still groggy, with a mild headache, she tried to chase away the hangover with coffee and food. She tinkered about the kitchen, drinking several cups of strong coffee and made breakfast. Some runny eggs and greasy bacon, chased by some toast to sop up the grease in her stomach, had her feeling half-way decent.

She lazily wandered the house as she finished her last cup of coffee. In the living room she caught sight of her family, minus Ed. Maude had her back to Emma, busy instructing the twins in some lecture from a thick text book. Jenny saw Emma, smiled shyly, and looked to the ground. James greeted Emma warmly, smiling widely and even holding eye contact. It seemed the two had switched personalities while Emma had been asleep.

More likely James was just warming up to Emma finally. And poor Jenny was most likely embarrassed about things from last night, and feeling worse than Emma was. Emma returned the smiles then walked her now empty coffee mug to the kitchen.

It looked like she would have to find a way to occupy herself for a few hours again.
