Chapter 2 by Darth_Halford Darth_Halford

Where does your heart take you?

Crash a party

You don’t want to just mope in your dorm room all by yourself, especially not seeing the kind of fun your friends are having. You ponder what you could do to put some excitement in your day, and in short order. You recall overhearing some of your classmates talking about parties today. The fraternities of the college were living up to the stereotypes and throwing wild, juvenile parties. That hasn’t been your scene in the past, and you’re not sure that you have the patience to deal with a crowd of rowdy drunk guys. On the other hand, you recognize that there could still be some fun to be had. At the very least, if you get the phone number from a cute guy, or even a few, that could still be a win. Getting dressed proves to an issue, with that on your mind. You want them to think you’re cute too, and you’re sure other girls are going to be showing off whatever they have, even if nobody wants to see it.

Being in close proximity of campus, you walk your way over. You can hear them before you see them, which is discouraging, but you refuse to walk back to your room. You have to take the good with the bad, and even with the noise, you’d rather be here than in your room; bored, and even worse, alone. As you approach, you come upon a horseshoed street, with a number of fraternities on it. Thankfully, only one of which is guilty of blaring music. You forget the name of the fraternity that you heard was having the party, but it appears to not matter; as they all are, judging on the number of people outside of them and the abundancy of red drinking cups. Telltale smoke and the distinctive smell of charcoal indicates one of them is having a barbeque in the back, and you gravitate in that direction. Nobody’s checking names for who is or isn’t invited, so you let yourself into the backyard through a wooden door on the side.

Nobody takes notice of you, which surprisingly bothers you. Though you didn’t want to be yelled at and shooed away, somehow being seemingly invisible feels worse. That’ll change, you assure yourself, though you don’t know when or how. Instead of dwelling on that, you take the opportunity to survey your environment. Closest to the door to the inside was a keg, and a predictably large group of guys busy “pregaming”, and getting their drinking games set up. That’s something you’ll want to avoid, you think. You’re still underaged to be drinking, not that it stops anyone around here. You also figure that you want to actually remember what happens here, whether that’s good or bad.

Moving past that throng with your eyes, you spot Jake, one of the hottest guys you’ve ever met in person. Shirt off, board shorts on, manning the barbeque. He’s a charming guy, with a magnetic smile and a cute laugh, and now that you can see him like this, he’s a physical specimen to boot. You’ve wanted to talk to him before, but he always seems enraptured by one girl or another. He’s alone now, it looks like today is as good of a chance as you’re going to get to talk to him. If you’re lucky, may even be able to get a date in.

In less good news, you spot Hannah, swimming alone in the pool. You actually know her from before college, a classmate from high school. She’s stuck up, pretentious, arrogant little bitch, who takes whatever she wants, including boys, and treats them like shit until she’s done with them. She’s taken boyfriends from you, two of them in fact, and you hate her for it. She doesn’t seem too happy herself, given that she’s not getting the attention she wants.

That attention is being given to Candace, who you’re surprised to see. She’s a senior, you had thought, and was part of the orientation program last fall for you. She was amazingly friendly and helpful, and had turned into a friend of yours, someone to chat with. She was also very smart, and perceptive, set to graduate in a few weeks with honors. It therefore, came as a great shock, to see her, not only here, but in her attire. Not really so much as what there was, but what there wasn’t. She was practically naked, with a g-string thong bottom, and a matching top that barely covered her nipples. She has an amazing body, which you hadn’t really noticed before, with how conservative she normally dressed and behaved. She’s surrounded by guys, which she seems to be perfectly okay with. She spots you through the group, and gives a friendly wave, but stays where she is for now.
