Cooking Practice

Spencer spent the weekend prying information out of Danielle, trying to find out what she'd like. On Sunday he found his answer on the Food Channel when a presenter showed how easy it was to make stir-fry. Spencer figured even someone of his culinary skill could pull it off. His first attempt didn't go too bad, although it still only reached the level of 'at least it'll keep you from dying'. Despite his failure, on Monday, Spencer met with Danielle at the Corner Coffee House and decided to give himself an ultimatum.

"So Dani, how do you feel about staying around for dinner Friday?"

"I'd love to Spencer."

"Great." Spencer smiled, trying to hide his fear. Danielle didn't seem to notice, taking more interest in her lunch.

Back home, he frantically googled recipes. He took into consideration that she didn't order anything spicy when they went to Thuong Thien. The thought of Thuong Thien also reminded him of the Stumbling Fox Shiraz she said was her favorite. He made sure to order a bottle, figuring even if it goes wrong, he might be able to get Dani buzzed enough to enjoy herself.

Much to his surprise, he managed to get a five-star review from his little critic on Monday. With his new found success, Spencer grew bold and decided to look up dessert recipes, finding a recipe for a frozen caramel slice. Throughout the week, he experimented with his stir-fry recipes in an attempt to find the perfect brew.

Meanwhile, part of Danielle felt like she was reaching her boiling point. It had been over two weeks since she had felt Spencer's intimate touch, and it was driving her crazy. She liked Spencer, but she also wanted Spencer. Part of her wondered whether she should initiate. She knew that Spencer was unlikely to do anything with his daughter in the house, so she knew if she was going to make a move, it'd have to be on Friday.
