"Maybe it's best, if you just go as a ****, darling", you say.

She drops the letter, laughing slightly hysterically.

"Look, Megan", you try to calm her down. "Think about it: You said you don't want to go naked, and I assume you don't want to dress as a dominatrix, right? Then going as a **** at least gives you the opportunity to put on some clothing. Think of it as some sort of costume party! We find you some nice lingerie, and we put a fake chain on you, just as a token. It's… really, it's nothing more than a costume!"

"If it's just a costume anyway, maybe I should dress as a dominatrix", Megan says, thoughtful. Which is enough to tell you that she is already not so firm anymore in her resistance. She is really considering it!

"Maybe, yes. But then again… do you want men to come towards you and spank them?"

Megan shudders and laughs uneasily.

"They wouldn't do that!"

"I honestly don't know."

"But if I go as a ****? What… what will those men ask of me?"

"Nothing!", you say firmly, and wish you could convince yourself as easily. "Because you will be my ****, obviously. We will be a couple. You will stay by my side. I will… stare anybody down who stares at you!"

Megan laughs, this time for real. You really think you are getting her there…!

"Megan, I swear, if you do this for me, I buy you a new pair of shoes every week for a whole year!"

She laughs again, biting her lips. Her blue eyes looking at you lovingly.

"Oh, Oscar, you can't bribe me into doing this!"

"A pair of shoes AND a new piece of jewelry. At Tiffany's!"

She flinches.

"Every week?", she asks, meekly, and then puts a stern look back on her face. "What am I saying – I am not for sale, Oscar. You shame me!"

"Yes, every week", you reply. "Promise. I will put it in writing for you."

She stares into the void for a while. Pondering.

"And I get you the convertible", you add.

"One night", Megan says.

You can't believe your luck.

"One night!", you affirm.

"I will stay in the back, you will protect me and I will leave early. Very early."

"Yes, everything you want."

You hope that this is according to the 'rules' of this party.

Megan breathes in and out deeply.

"OK. Done", she says.

You feel a bit light-headed. You made it. You got Megan to agree to this party.

For a very brief moment you wonder what you have gotten yourself and Megan into.

A week later, the costume arrives. It did cost you long hours of internet research to find something that would not scare Megan too much while still adheres to the dress code of the party, which stated that "nipples and nether lips have to stay accessible". So you bought an intricate leather harness, which indeed covers more than it reveals, although it does reveal Megan's impressive and beautiful breasts in a rather telling way by framing them snugly. There are also a tightly woven fishnet stockings which, again, don't show immediately that they are crotchless – if Megan does not take too big steps. Finally, you got her a leather collar with a big metal ring dangling in the front. As Megan closes it around her neck, she looks half irritated half surprised.

"It does even look elegant", she comments, finally, inspecting herself in the mirror. "Like a necklace. Just… more uncomfortable to wear."

You grant her a warm smile, and you are suddenly incredibly proud that your wife is ready to do this for you. Also, you admit, you find her incredibly hot in this costume. You never thought of Megan as a '****', but suddenly this thought is a tiny, tiny bit enticing.
